What is the issue?
It was recently identified that some of our WildBlue customers using email clients (Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, and Mac Mail) have been receiving previously downloaded mail messages to their email client.
Who did this affect?
This only affected customers that had previously enabled POP forwarding in their Gmail settings and are using email clients.
Why did this occur?
WildBlue customers who previously enabled POP forwarding were impacted by this change.
WildBlue enabled POP forwarding for all of WildBlue’s customers. By making this change, it caused all previously downloaded email messages to download again.
This was a single occurrence; and will only happen again if a customer enables the POP forwarding settings to: Enable POP for all mail (even mail that’s already been downloaded)
What*are we*going to do?
WildBlue is updating articles to educate customers using email clients on the different POP settings and what to expect based on these changes.
As a result of this issue, WildBlue has cleared all modem usage records for 3/17-3/20. This was done to remove any customer’s usage data that was accumulated because of this issue.
